December Swell, Labost Bragar is one of my favourite places to go walking on Lewis. Whenever I need to be alone this is where I go. As depicted in this painting the costline is rugged and ancient and battered by the continuous pounding of the Atlantic. It is Winter and the swell is relentless. The colours of Winter are quiet while nature goes to sleep. In the near distance is the Shawbost coastline leading the eye to Uig in the far-off distance. There is no sign of life bar the few seabirds circling above the roar of the Atlantic. view: map location | nearby pictures |
