North-East Lewis
acrylic on canvas, 12″ × 12″

Glen Tolsta is a small village lying on the North-East of Lewis a mile before arriving in the larger village of Tolsta.  Nestled in the glen and reputedly haunted this village consists of four houses and quite a few ruined crofthouses.  Its past inhabitants were cleared here last century from the South Lochs villages of Lemreway and Orinsay.  Overlooking Broad Bay and Point it commands a magnificent and windswept viewpoint.

This painting is on show at the Grinneas nan Eilean Exhibition, An Lanntair Gallery, Stornoway from 25th November 2019 to 2nd February 2020.  (Please note — to purchase this painting during the show, you must buy directly from an Lanntair.  If it remains unsold it will be available for purchase as normal from the website.)
